The Swedish National Coordination Centre for cybersecurity research and innovation

The Swedish National Coordination Centre for cybersecurity research and innovation will enable EU funding for financial support. Swedish research institutes, companies and public authorities can apply for these EU funds for cybersecurity research and innovation projects.

Sweden's vital services are undergoing an advanced digital transformation. But information- and cybersecurity efforts are lagging behind, leaving society increasingly vulnerable to cyber incidents. At the same time, we have grown reliant on non-European cybersecurity providers and the cybersecurity skills gap in Sweden has increased. This calls for empowering cybersecurity research and innovation as well as investments in skills development in this field.

The EU is therefore taking concerted measures in the form of financial support to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and competitiveness, and to develop research, innovation and skills. This financial support is available through two EU programmes: Horizon Europe and Digital Europe (DIGITAL).

Swedish research institutes, companies and public authorities can apply for these EU funds for cybersecurity research and innovation projects.

European Cybersecurity Competence Centre

A European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) is being established in Bucharest. The ECCC, an EU body under the European Commission, will design and manage cybersecurity calls for proposals under the Horizon Europe and DIGITAL EU programmes. The ECCC will also lead a network of National Coordination Centres and a European Competence Community of users and providers of cybersecurity research and innovation solutions.

NCC-SE provides support for EU calls for proposals

NCC-SE will help promote EU initiatives in Sweden, establish contacts between actors in the sector and provide guidance on EU calls. This will enable Sweden to participate in and benefit from EU-funded cybersecurity programmes.
